Vehicle data forensics · St Peters · Sydney
The vehicle kept a record. We recover and interpret it.
Collision Sciences Australia downloads, recovers and interprets what vehicles store: event data recorders, airbag and infotainment modules, driver assistance systems and onboard video, for insurers and police across Australia and New Zealand.

What the lab does
Every job ends the same way: findings you can rely on, reported plainly. How the data comes out depends on the vehicle and the state it arrived in.
EDR downloads and reports
Event data recorder downloads with findings reported in plain language, prepared for claims decisions and for court.
Chip-off recovery
Data lifted directly from the memory chips of damaged airbag and infotainment modules, when the module's condition rules out a standard download.
ADAS, infotainment and video analysis
What the vehicle sensed, stored and did: driver assistance events, infotainment records and onboard video, recovered and interpreted.
Pinout support and training
Online EDR training and pinout support for police crash investigation units doing their own downloads.
Expert work for insurers
Data-led findings for claims teams, reported so they hold up if the matter goes further.
Where the common toolset stops, the case does not have to
The common EDR toolset supports a defined list of makes and modules, and for those it does the job. That list is not the whole car park.
The lab's coverage runs past it: through the Collision Sciences tools, through direct-to-module methods, and through chip-off recovery when a module is damaged.
Before a vehicle gets written off as unreadable, check it or ask us.
One side of the matter
The lab acts for law enforcement agencies and major insurers across Australia and New Zealand, alongside the private crash investigators and academic researchers who work with them.
We do not take defence legal work, so the lab is never on the other side of your matter.
